Experienced EHV Electrical Project Manager - Full Time - Permanent Position

 Primary Power Consulting is a high voltage engineering company specialising in electrical power infrastructure, transport and grid connections.  Due to continuing success and a secure sales pipeline we are looking to recruit an experienced utility Electrical Project Managers.


The professional delivery of 33kV - 132kV utility projects is a key growth area and as such this role is vital to the ongoing success of our business.


Duties and responsibilities of the role include: 

 

  • Manage interfaces between our client and their customers
  • Estimate, plan and deliver key infrastructure projects
  • Management of CDM roles and responsibilities
  • Produce and develop entry to service plans in conjunction with Senior Authorised Persons and provide technical input to the design and approval process
  • Produce commissioning reports, test documentation and update drawings to as built status
  • Project a professional image to clients and colleagues
  • Contribute to the future success of Primary Power Consulting and its clients.
  • Role will be based in the in the North of England with high proportion of home working.


 Qualifications / skills 

Candidates should have gained relevant experience of Project Management activities within the electrical contracting or utility industries. We require you will be educated to a minimum HNC level in electrical or electronic engineering and be IT literate. Candidates must have a full UK driving licence, be eligible to work in the UK and fluent English speaking with suitable experience to be considered. We expect you to be self-motivated with a flexible and proactive approach to work and be able to work autonomously or as part of a team. 


Salary and benefits

 

  • Up to £65,000 salary depending on experience and qualifications including overtime for weekend working

Power System Design Engineer - Full Time - Permanent Position

 Primary Power Consulting is a high voltage engineering company specialising in electrical power infrastructure, transport and grid connections.  Due to continuing success and a secure sales pipeline we are looking to recruit two Power System Design Engineers.


The professional delivery of 11kV - 132kV utility projects is a key growth area and as such this role is vital to the ongoing success of our business.


You will be responsible for carrying out power system studies and analysis deploying standard power system tools to validate the technical design as well as drawings and specifications.

Working with the DNO internal teams and external vendors you will arrive at commercial decisions and document these.

You will work with the DNO and end customers in reviewing the design drawings and specifications as well as investment plans.



Duties and responsibilities of the role include: 

 

  

  • Stringent Analysis of the present UK network to identify the challenges faced and to re-engineer the electrical scheme to meet the techno commercial / regulatory needs at EHV voltage levels.
  • Design of adequate electrical schemes for future networks including constraint analysis and operation.
  • Carrying out Load Flow and Fault Level Analysis, Protection Coordination, Demand Forecasting, Load Network Reinforcement.
  • Analyse and interpret the results of power system simulation software for design electrical schemes.
  • Summarise the results of all analytical studies and preparation of technical reports.
  • Establish logistic evidence for investment plan.
  • Deliberation of the technical design, drawings, and detailed specification.
  • Technical design reports for distribution sector 33/66/132KV
  • Working knowledge of T&D system including Network Protection and Reinforcement.
  • Experience in using power flow modelling tools, IPSA, DINIS, PSSE
